Admission for EWS
Admission Opportunities in Diploma Course for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) at Indo Danish Tool Room Jamshedpur and TRTC Patna (an extension center of IDTR, Jamshedpur) by availing 10% reservation in EWS category.
Indo Danish Tool Room has implemented the 10% EWS reservation policy. However, as the EWS reservation is a relatively new initiative many candidates are not aware and get deprived of the reservation under EWS policy. Due to lack of awareness many candidates who actually fall under the EWS category apply for admission in the Unreserved Category (UR) or General Category and fail to avail the 10% reservation for EWS category. Total number of seats at IDTR Jamshedpur in two specialized diploma courses is 525 out of which EWS reservation @ 10% is 52 seats. Similarly, at TRTC, Patna out of 300 seats, 30 seats are reserved for EWS.
A brief of the EWS
To extend the benefits of reservation to the EWS not covered under the existing schemes for SC, ST & OBC, the Government of India has implemented 10% reservation for EWS candidates in civil posts, government services and admissions to educational institutions.
To get an EWS (Economically Weaker Section) certificate, you'll need to apply to your local government authority, usually the Tehsildar or District Collector's office.
